Reindeer Paper Plate Craft For Kids
Supplies Needed:
- Paper plate
- Construction paper (brown, light brown, and white)
- Brown paint
- Paintbrush
- Twigs
- Mini multi-colored pom-pom balls
- 1red pom-pom ball
- Scissor
- Glue
- Tape
- Optional: Googly eyes
Step 1: Begin by painting the entire surface of the paper plate with brown paint, ensuring full coverage, and then set it aside to dry completely.
If you have a brown paper plate, you are a genius and can skip the painting step altogether.
Step 2: Cut out the ear shapes from the brown and light brown construction paper. Once cut, attach the ears to the top of the paper plate, positioning them to resemble the reindeer’s ears.
Pro Tip: If you are making this craft with preschoolers, I recommend drawing the ears onto the brown paper for the child and then having them cut them out. Toddlers might need more assistance with cutting out the ears.
Step 3: Using the light brown construction paper, cut out a small circle to create the reindeer’s snout.
Attach this circle to the paper plate, then affix a red pom pom ball to the top of the snout to represent Rudolph’s iconic red nose.
Step 4: Cut out two small circles from white construction paper to form the reindeer’s eyes.
Shade the inner part of each eye to create the pupils, and then carefully attach the eyes to the paper plate.
Or if you have large googly eyes, you can use those instead!
Step 5: Now comes our favorite part.
If you have time, let the kids go outside and find small twigs to use as the antlers.
To create the reindeer’s antlers, decorate the twigs with small pom-pom balls resembling Christmas lights.
Step 6: Attach the adorned twigs to the top of the paper plate, positioning them to represent the reindeer’s antlers.
We taped them to the back of the Rudolph paper plate.
Your reindeer paper plate craft is now complete!
